Restoring Cardiff Woods

Northwest Kiwanis will be joining the neighbors of Cardiff Woods Park and the Friends of UA Parks on Saturday, July 9 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. as they begin to restore the health and natural beauty of Cardiff Woods.

Over the years many mature trees have fallen, and invasive shrubs and vines have smothered young saplings and wildflowers. Volunteers have the opportunity to help remove these invasive species, replace them with native trees and shrubs, and restore Cardiff Woods to a park we can all enjoy and be proud of.

Members of our club have helped the Friends of UA Parks remove invasive species at Northwest Kiwanis Park and Miller Park. We look forward to continuing to support this groups of volunteers as they begin a new project at Cardiff Woods.

New volunteers are welcome to come help restore Cardiff Woods. Volunteers should bring water, safety glasses and bug spray and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Friends of UA Parks will provide hand saws, loppers, gloves, and yard waste bags.
