License Agency

Northwest Kiwanis of Columbus sponsors an Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles License Bureau.  By doing business with this particular License Agency, you help the general funding of our Kiwanis Club.  This money generated goes straight back to the community to offset costs of the many programs we offer.  More information on the license agency can be found by clicking here.

Blood Pressure Screening

Once per month the Northwest Kiwanis arranges to have a paramedic from the fire department conduct a free blood pressure screening for area seniors at the U.A. Senior Center.

Equipment for First Responders

The Northwest Kiwanis has purchased important equipment for first responders over the years; from buying the first emergency response vehicles for the Grandview Heights and Upper Arlington Fire Departments to defibrillators at Northam Park and Hastings Middle School.

Iodine Deficiency Disorder

In 1995, Kiwanis International began a drive to globally eliminate Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) – the major preventable cause of mental retardation in the world. Kiwanis International raised $80 million and partnered with UNICEF to build plants to iodize salt and educate the local population on the benefits. Most of the "at risk" children in the world have access to iodized salt, and the end of this scourge to children is in sight. In a December 17, 2006 article of the New York Times, Kiwanis International was applauded for its efforts in this fight. We are proud that our local club raised and donated over $27,000 to this cause.
